In 2008, Romeo moved to Aotearoa from the Philippines and has 18 years of chaplaincy experience across diverse contexts, including rural farming, mental health/disability, maritime communities, and hospital settings.
Romeo is currently providing chaplaincy services within care homes and retirement villages.
Romeo studied Christian education. He completed two units of Clinical Pastoral Education, and his mental health training strengthened his pastoral care skills.
Romeo supports people through tough times. Romeo offers empathetic understanding, builds trusting relationships, and creates a space where individuals feel accepted and free to express their feelings.
Romeo adheres to the Te Whare Tapa Whā care model and respects the Treaty of Waitangi. He believes that supervision is a significant aspect of his work. Married to Sandra and father to their daughter Marissa. Romeo enjoys basketball, travel, and treasures living in the present moment. He looks forward to contributing to the NZHCA and supporting its mission.
