Keta Te Ahuru

Executive Committee Member

Kia ora, ko Keta Te Ahuru ahau. I am Māori Equity Lead within Health New Zealand’s Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS), and have previously worked within the Department of Internal Affairs. I have completed Clinical Pastoral Care training and certification through Te Whatu Ora MHAIDS and volunteer as a Māori Chaplain, providing pastoral and spiritual care to Māori, whānau and members of the Rātana community in Wellington.

As a registered Āwhina within Te Haahi Rātana, I also support and coordinate monthly Rātana ministry at Daniell Street, Newtown, for our local Rātana parishes. I bring extensive experience in Māori leadership, grounded in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga, mātauranga Māori, Māori health equity and whānau-centred practice.

I am honoured to contribute these experiences to the NZHCA Executive, particularly in strengthening Māori equity, Te Tiriti, Mahi Wairua and meaningful relationships with Māori, Mana Whenua and whānau across Aotearoa.
