Kate Sanders
Secretary
Kate has been part of Wellington Hospital Chaplaincy Team for five years. She visits all wards, including Te Mahoe (Women's Clinic) and Te Whare o Matairangi (Mental Health), and has trained in Voluntary Chalpain Assistancy (VCA) and completed one Clinical Pastoral Education (CPA). She holds a bachelor's degree in Theology, Masters Music Therapy and certificates in Supervision and Quality Improvement facilitation.
Raised in an Irish Catholic culture, she brings skills from Social Work (including Child Protection) from Parish Ministry (Upper Hutt, Christchurch, Levin) and from Music Therapy (currently with L’Arche, an ecumenical community with and without “disabilities”)
Kate is committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and cares about collaboration, integration of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care, and evolving best practice of Spiritual Care.
On the weekends, Kate is outdoors, socialising, biking or in the community gardening.
