Jacqueline Tuffnell

Jacqueline lives on the South Island’s beautiful West Coast and works as a Senior Clinical Advisor for Presbyterian Support Central (PSC) where their goal is to deliver person-centred care according to what is known as the Eden Alternative.
With 30 years as a registered nurse, she leads the nine chaplains at PSC, guiding their training and development.
She has previously been a Volunteer Chaplaincy Assistant (VCA) at Nelson Hospital. Jacqueline has a Master of Chaplaincy through Otago University and is currently a PhD candidate writing her thesis which looks at the part advocacy plays in the Healthcare Chaplain’s role.
She represents the NZHCA on the Transforming Chaplaincy Joint Research Council and is credentialled at Level 4 – Strategic Leadership by Spiritual Care Australia.
Jacquelines brings a broad knowledge of the systems and processes of the health sector to the NZHCA executive, a passion for the ministry of Chaplaincy and a desire to ensure that it continues to grow and develop and be recognised as an integral part of holistic health care.
