Former president NZHCA (2020 - 2024)

I have been a member of NZHCA since 2015 and joined the executive committee in 2016. It was an honour to be elected as president of NZHCA in 2020. After serving for one term of two years, I was re-elected for the second term. I stepped down from this position in 2024. I am an ex-officio member of Executive committee for one year.

I am a fully registered chaplain and have been working at Whanganui hospital as the Lead-Coordinating chaplain. I enjoyed my journey through the credentialling process and recommend all chaplains to embark on this journey as it involves a lot of learning and self-reflection.

Prior to taking up this position, I also worked at Waitakere Hospital and Mason clinic in Auckland as a Locum chaplain for a few years. During my work as locum chaplain, I was Assistant Priest at St Michaels and St Marks Anglican Parish in West Auckland.

I appreciate the work carried out by NZHCA towards professional development of chaplains. I would like to be associated with the organisation as long as I am working as a chaplain and continue to support the good work being done by the Association.
